After I read the headlines this morning, I developed an eye twitch. Figure the only way to relieve it is to lock myself in the sewing room and maybe try out this "blog" thing everyone is doing.
This year I am committed to finish some UFOs (Unfinished Objects) of which I have many. Then there are those "Wish List" items of which there are even more. First wish list item is below. This is the paper layout of the Goose Tracks pattern I have been dying to get and just recently got it late last year. Took me awhile to figure out exactly the layout I wanted. I have a dark background and am using PolyNeon thread. Will be a work in progress throughout the year so stay tuned.
Next is a UFO that is high on my priority list is a Pictorial Quilt. I have been wanting to do a pictorial quilt for a long time. I signed up for a Craftsy course during the summer and watched most of the entire course while I was waiting for my car to be serviced. I found an app in iTunes to increase the photo to the size I wanted. (Better than running to Kinkos - plus probably less expensive to boot). Here are the photos I have merged together. One is a photo I took in 2008 while traveling in Egypt (one of my bucket list items and very glad I did it when I did!). The other photo is one of my all time favorite dogs, Tika (I miss her still). I think I am going to call it "Far Seeing Eyes".
Here is the main pattern with some fabric swatches and you can see at the very top almost out of view the copy on freezer paper.
Now comes the hard part. It has been sitting at this stage since August. For some reason, I can't find the courage to cut the friggin' freezer paper. What is the worst thing that could happen anyway? It is not like going over the fiscal cliff for crying out loud!
So stayed tuned.
Happy New Year,
Kathy
